The great fashion corset

This is a bodice that calls on history for its inspiration, but it is not too historical in its appearance. The corset will be worn as a separate garment which can be teamed up with any style of  bridal skirt, trousers or even jeans for a quirky effect.

The corset is cut into several pattern pieces, allowing a wonderful shape and can be laced very tightly, removing several inches from the waist.

'Tailoring tricks' for today's styles

Over the years, fashion has dictated the style of a tailored jacket. In recent times this iconic garment has become more relaxed in its structure, but the fundamental components to construct the jacket remain similar, such as sleeves and collars.

Applying the correct techniques to achieve perfectly formed collars and lapels, an exacting sleeve, beautifully formed shoulders, pockets and vents are all essential for a professional finish.

The logic to these methods can also be converted to a more tailored wedding dress, structured evening gowns and other items of day wear.
