Oh, how the world of sewing patterns has sadly changed in only the last year. The printed pattern industry has declined. Whereas PDF offerings have exploded, but we do have another option and that is to use the patterns we already have and adapt them into NEW styles.

The advantage of this is you can use patterns you already know and trust. We can basically update your current collection every season. You will start looking at patterns differently. ideas will spark on where you can go next. You will think like a designer recognising the core of your style but giving it a regular update. A few tweaks here and there will elevate your wardrobe. I promise people won’t even recognise the original pattern. And the best bit is it will save you both time and money.

I will start this class by discussing how the patterns work in general and then take you through several design features of the moment. Such as getting the ‘Look’ of The Rixo style, Westwood dresses (yes more than one), Emily in Paris jacket. Camilla ‘Must haves’ LV asymmetrical wrap trousers…and so much more!!

We are concentrating on the design and pattern side of things. There will be lots of paper and calico used. Creative fabric and construction will be shown on the 7 Fabulosity designs for Spring/Summer 2026’.

The two classes work well side by side. Content will not be repeated unless offering alternative ideas
